Box Score MESA, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa women's soccer team picked up a 2-1 win over Soka University of America bringing their conference record to 4-1-4 and 6-3-5 overall. The Redhawks remain at 5th place in the Cal Pac standings with 3 matches left in conference and one non-conference match against Lincoln University.
The Redhawks and the Lions played sparingly taking an equal number of shots throughout the match with 9 apiece. The Redhawks landed the first goal in the 8th minute on a shot from freshman Brylee Rod making it her third goal of the season. The Lions answered back in the 18th minute making it a tie game going into the half.
Senior defender Maya Shearon picked up her first goal of the season knocking a header into the net on a corner kick from Baylie Saunders. Shearon's goal put the Redhawks up 2-1 at the 68th minute securing the win for BenU.
