Box Score MESA, Ariz. - On Saturday morning, at Bell Bank Park, the Benedictine Univeristy Mesa women's soccer team got an 88th minute goal from freshman Brylee Rod to tie the game at 1-1 against the University of Saint Katherine and remain undefeated in the Cal Pac with a 3-0-3 record.
The Firebirds applied pressure on the Redhawks defense from the jump taking 6 shots to BenU's 3 shots. The Firebirds forced 3 saves from those 6 shots on Jaden Campbell in the first half. By the end of the match, Campbell had made 10 saves to keep the Redhawks in the game. The Redhawks were unable to apply pressure until the final minutes of the game when they took one shot and landed it in the net to tie the game.
The Redhawks were outshot 17-4, including 11-1 in the second half. The Firebirds also held an 11-3 advantage on shots on goal and registered a 6-1 advantage on corner kicks. The tie brings the Redhawks to 1-3-1 in their all-time against the Firebirds.
