Box Score GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Benedictine University Mesa women's basketball team held the Firestorm to just 38.3% shooting performance on the way to a 72-70 win over the Firestorm on the road Friday afternoon. The win against Arizona Christian comes after the Redhawks defeated SAGU-AIC 69-36 on Wednesday evening. The Redhawks are now 4-9 overall and 1-5 in Cal Pac play.
The Redhawks had four players score in double figures, led by Andriana Kasapi, who had 20 points. Dyamond Butler-Worley tacked on 15 points and nine rebounds. Elise Young and Raenesha Willis chipped in as well with 12 point each.
After jumping out to an 12-4 advantage, the Redhawks continued to apply pressure on the Firestorm defense to increase their lead to 21-13. The Redhawks then lost some of that lead, but still entered the half with a 36-32 advantage.
The Redhawks maintained their lead in the game's third frame and entered the final quarter with a narrow 51-50 edge. The Firestorm chipped away at the Redhawks lead and tied the game once but never came away with the advantage.
The Redhawks hit 31-of-72 field goals (43.1%), 3-of-21 three-pointers (14.3%), 7-of-10 free throws (70%). The Redhawks committed 21 turnovers and stole the ball 14 times. Arizona Christian made 26-of-60 shots (38.3%), 7-of-23 three-pointers (30.4%) and 17-of-23 free throws (73.9%) and committed 22 turnovers and stole the ball from the Redhawks seven times.
