Box Score REDDING, Calif. – The Redhawks outshot Simpson, 26-14, but ultimately fell to the Red Hawks, 4-1, in Redding, Calif. on Thursday afternoon. The loss brings the Redhawks to 2-3-2 overall and 2-1 in Cal Pac.
Simpson got on the board fast scoring within the first couple minutes of the match. The Redhawks wouldn't answer for the goal until the 40th minute when Pelaelo Mahloko notched an unassisted goal to tie the game. The Redhawks held a 17-5 advantage in the first half but were unable to land more than the one goal in the net.
Simpson continued to apply pressure on the Redhawks defense and scored in the 72nd, 84th, and 87th minutes of the match. Both teams took 9 shots but the Redhawks failed to get them in frame.
Freshman Aidan Klein made 4 saves on the 8 shots on goal and allowed 4 goals against the Redhawks.
