Women's Soccer Falls to OUAZ, 2-0

The Benedictine University Mesa women's soccer team fell to in-state rival OUAZ, 2-0. The Redhawks are now 1-1 overall as they head into their last two matches before Cal Pac play. 

The match was quiet in the first half with both teams only taking four shots each and having zero opportunities from the corners. Both goalkeepers finished the vfirst with four saves apiece. The Spirit finished with four fouls while the Redhawks only had two in the first. 

The Spirit offense came alive in the second half and never let up, taking 8 shots and scoring their two goals. Jaden Campbell had 9 saves for the Redhawks and five came in the second half. Maya Shearon led the back line for the Redhawks and stopped multiple opportunites from making the stat sheet. The Redhawks offense was only able to put up one shot in the second and was unable to counter the Spirit offense.

 

Up Next: The Redhawks will face Vanguard University on September 5 at 11 a.m. and follow that with a match against Hope Internation (RV) on Wednesday, September 7 at 1 p.m. in Fullerton, Calif.
