Redhawks Fall to Mount Mercy

MESA, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa baseball team hosted Mount Mercy for the first game of a four-game series on Thursday evening at Gene Autry Park. The Redhawks fell to the Mustangs, 8 -3, bringing their overall record to 3-7.

The game went scoreless through two innings with both teams going strong on the defensive end allowing only one hit. The Mustangs got on the board first scoring in the top of the third and again in the fourth. The Redhawks answered for one run in the fifth but allowed three more runs to come across in the top of the ninth. The Redhawks rallied in the bottom of the ninth but fell short only scoring two runs.

Daniel Miranda went 2-for-4 and scored one run. Ryan Curran went 1-for-4 and scored one run.

 

UP NEXT

The Redhawks host Mount Mercy on Friday morning with the first pitch set for 11 a.m. at Gene Autry Park.
