LAKELAND, Fla. – The Benedictine University Mesa baseball team put up 27 runs against their opponents but were unable to pull away with a win despite the explosive offense. The Redhawks went 0-4 at the inaugural East/West Challenge where they faced four ranked opponents. The Redhawks are now 3-5 overall with two more series ahead of them before entering Cal Pac play.

VS. LSU SHREVEPORT (4)

The Pilots took an early lead posting 8 runs in the first three innings and blanking the Redhawks. The Redhawks would get on the board in the 4^th and score again in the 7^th and 8^th innings but fell short of a comeback.

Orlando Lorduy went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored. Daniel Miranda and Josh Hernandz both finished with two hits against the Pilots.

VS. ST. THOMAS (8)

11-10, L

The Bobcats took an early five run lead and held it through four innings before the Redhawks would answer to tie the game at five runs apiece. The Pilots took a one run lead in the bottom of the fifth but gave up four runs and the lead to the Redhawks in the 6^th. St. Thomas rallied late in the 8^th to take back the lead and secure the win over BenU.

VS. KEISER UNIVERSITY (25)

13-5, L

The Redhawks held the game within reach trailing by one run through four innings before letting Keiser slip away with a five run lead in the fifth. The Hawks continued to score in every frame after the fifth extending their lead. The Redhawks rallied in the final frames but came up shy of a comeback.
