GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa baseball team extended their win streak to seventeen with a nail-biting win over the University of Saint Katherine on Saturday afternoon. The Redhawks improve to 20-7 overall and 5-0 in Cal Pac play.

Both teams collected eight hits on the day but the Redhawks were able to produce four runs to the Firebirds three runs to come away with the win. Ryan Curran and Josh Hernandez brought around the runs both collecting two RBI's in the game.

Mikito Barkman started the game off strong throwing four strikeouts and only allowing one run to cross the plate. Carlos Soto allowed two runs but also threw four strikeouts. Bobby Romitti came in to pitch in the final inning with one out and a runner on second. Romitti allowed a runner on and then forced a groundout to Kevin Fitzgerald to get the second of the inning. Romittit finished the game with a bases loaded strikeout to keep the streak alive for the Redhawks.
