MESA, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa women's soccer team fell to crosstown rival Arizona Christian, 4-2. The Redhawks are now 0-2 overall with just one more match before Cal Pac play.
The Redhawks started the game applying pressure to the Firestorm defense but were unable to land anything in the net. The Redhawks had an 11-to-9 shot advantage in the first half. The Firestorm managed to get one by in the first putting them up 1-0 at the half.
The Firestorm started the second quick adding another goal at the 52nd minute to make it 2-0. The Redhawks would answer for one goal just a few minutes after.
Dahlia Alonso took the ball from just outside the box driving it past the keeper to put the Redhawks on the board.
Maya Shearon would tie the game in the 80th minute with a goal that snuck by the keeper. The Redhawks were unable to keep the Firestorm from taking shots and creating opportunities that resulted in two more goals for a final score of 4-2.

The Redhawks will take the field again on Monday, Aug. 28 in Prescott, Ariz. against St. Thomas University. The match is set for 6 p.m.
