Rodriguez Records Hat Trick in Win Over La Sierra

MESA, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa women's soccer team picked up their third Cal Pac win against La Sierra University, 6-2, on Sunday morning. The Redhawks are now 3-1 in Cal Pac play and 3-4 overall.
 
Neshma Rodriguez led the Redhawks with a second half hat trick to push BenU past the Golden Eagles for the win.
 
The match opened with the Golden Eagles scoring in the 20th minute off an unassisted goal. The Redhawks answered back at the 35th minute to send the game into the half at a 1-1 draw. It took ten minutes into the second for the Redhawks to take the lead on Rodriguez's first goal of the day. Brylee Rod followed it up with a goal five minutes later on an assist from Nadia Jaffer. Rodriguez went on two score two goals at the 67th and 69th minutes, both unassisted. The Redhawks final goal came from Idania Dominguez on an assist from Dahlia Alonso.
 
BenU was outshot by La Sierra, 16-to-12, but shot with more accuracy despite both teams finishing with 9 shots on goal. Jaden Campbell was only pressured to make two saves during the game.
