Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Tie Against Embry-Riddle

Benedictine Mesa kicked off their match against Embry-Riddle with Rafael Machado in goal, facing an early challenge when the Eagles fired a shot wide just 41 seconds in. The Redhawks' first offensive attempt came in the 7th minute from Carlos Barraza, whose shot sailed high. In the 9th minute, Ethan Lush nearly scored, hitting the crossbar.

The intensity increased when Benedictine committed fouls, leading to a penalty for Embry-Riddle at the 13-minute mark, which they missed. Machado then made a crucial save in the 14th minute, followed by another defensive stop amid pressure from the Eagles. Benedictine made key substitutions around the 23rd minute, bringing in fresh legs like Tholo Malebo and Tshepiso Ntuli, and Machado continued to shine, stopping a dangerous header from Ravi Holladay in the 18th minute.

The Redhawks had a chance to take the lead in the 40th minute when Cornelus Miller tested the Embry-Riddle goalkeeper but failed to score. The first half ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

In the second half, both teams sought to capitalize on early opportunities, with Embry-Riddle's Roei Nir shooting high just 18 seconds in. Benedictine's defense held strong, despite a yellow card issued to Pela Mahloko in the 58th minute. The Redhawks made substitutions in the 60th minute, but despite several shots, including efforts from Carlos Barraza, Reagan Rintoul, and Shiloh Perez, all were saved by the Eagles' goalkeeper.

Ultimately, Benedictine demonstrated determination but failed to find the net, ending the match scoreless.
