Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Displayed Strong Defense In Fall to #15 Embery-Riddle

In a challenging match against Embry-Riddle, the Benedictine Mesa Women's Soccer team battled hard but ultimately succumbed to a 3-0 defeat. Alinah Heuramo showcased her skills in goal, making an impressive 16 saves throughout the match.

The scoring opened at the 17:20 mark when Embry-Riddle found the net. Following the goal, Benedictine attempted to respond, with Cahryn Rod taking a shot that was saved by Embry-Riddle's goalkeeper. Despite several corner kicks and continued pressure from Embry solid defensive efforts stayed strong.

As the first half concluded with a score of 1-0, Benedictine regrouped for the second half, looking to find an equalizer. Julia Bodelasse had an early chance, but her shot was again saved. Although the Redhawks maintained their determination, Embry-Riddle doubled their lead in the 62nd minute.

The momentum continued to favor Embry-Riddle, who extended their lead further in the 80th minute. Despite their defensive efforts, the Redhawks faced challenges in creating offensive opportunities. Heuramo remained a bright spot, consistently denying Embry-Riddle's advances with her remarkable saves.

As the final whistle blew, the scoreboard reflected the offensive struggles for Benedictine, but the team demonstrated resilience and determination throughout. They will aim to regroup and build on the experience gained from this challenging contest in their upcoming matches.
