The Benedictine Mesa Men's Basketball team secured an emphatic 101-59 victory over CETYS Mexicali on Friday afternoon.
First Half
The Redhawks started strong, with
Deven Franks setting the tone by nailing a three-pointer off an assist from
Tanner Crawford. Their defense was unyielding, as Crawford and
Malik Payton picked up key steals, turning them into quick transition points. Crawford stood out with a versatile performance, contributing a layup, free throws, and an assist.
Damian Zivak provided an offensive spark, draining three three-pointers, one of which came from a precise dish by
Malakai Harris.
Despite a brief rally by CETYS, the Redhawks kept their composure. Inside scoring from
Seth Dawson and Payton helped extend the lead. By halftime, Benedictine had built a commanding 48-28 advantage, thanks to their balanced offense and suffocating defense.
Second Half
Benedictine Mesa continued to dominate in the second half. Aggressive drives to the basket by
Deven Foster and
Jaylin Turner added to their growing lead early on. The Redhawks capitalized on turnovers, with Crawford and

Though CETYS managed a brief surge, including a trio of three-pointers from Alan Audelo, the Redhawks remained firmly in control. Efficient free-throw shooting and strong rebounding ensured that CETYS never got back into the game.
