Men’s Basketball Defeated by Life Pacific 72-90

In a competitive matchup on Saturday afternoon, the Benedictine Mesa Men's Basketball Team faced off against Life Pacific, ultimately falling 90-72.

First Half: The game started with both teams vying for early dominance. Jack Busenhart secured a defensive rebound, allowing BENU to strike first with a layup from Busenhart. Life quickly responded with a three-pointer from Cabs, making it 3-2.

As the first half progressed, Life Pacific maintained a slight edge, utilizing timely three-pointers, while Emad Elniel's consistent scoring kept Benedictine in contention. Despite efforts to narrow the gap, including key plays from Tanner Crawford and Benjamin Ramirez, Life Pacific ended the half leading 42-35.

Second Half: The second half began with both teams exchanging baskets, as Albert Matute's layup pushed Life Pacific ahead. Damian Zivak's free throws and a three-pointer from Malik Payton helped bring Benedictine within striking distance at 44-39. However, Life Pacific regained control with layups, expanding their lead.

As the period continued, both teams battled hard, but Life Pacific's offensive rhythm proved difficult for Benedictine to disrupt. Despite moments of brilliance from Elniel and Crawford, the Redhawks struggled to close the gap. In the closing minutes, Life Pacific secured the win, with a final three-pointer sealing the 90-72 victory.
