The Benedictine Mesa women's soccer team fell 5-0 to Embry-Riddle on Thursday evening.
Embry-Riddle came out on the attack early, firing multiple shots in the opening minutes before finally breaking through in the 26th minute. Jamie Brandon netted the opening goal for the Eagles, assisted by Samantha Wright and Tessa Updegraff, giving Embry-Riddle a 1-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Eagles continued to apply pressure. Embry-Riddle doubled their lead in the 60th minute when Sachie Ilae found the back of the net, assisted again by Brandon and Wright. Less than 20 minutes later, Wright added a goal of her own to make it 3-0.
Brandon then capped off her day with two more goals in the final five minutes — completing her hat trick and sealing the 5-0 victory for Embry-Riddle.
