Benedictine Mesa Men's Basketball Head Coach Frank Woodford has been named the NAIA National Coach of the Week by HoopDirt.com—his first time earning the honor.

Woodford's Redhawks continued their perfect start to the season with two major victories, including a statement win over the No. 2 team in the nation. On Thursday, Benedictine rallied from a 12-point deficit with under five minutes to play to defeat Embry-Riddle (AZ) 71–70 in a dramatic comeback.

The momentum carried into Saturday as the Redhawks hosted second-ranked Arizona Christian, who entered the matchup at 10–1 with their only loss coming to No. 3 Georgetown College. Benedictine used a dominant second-half run to secure an 82–70 victory—the program's first-ever win over Arizona Christian.

Now 12–0 overall and 3–0 in GSAC play, the Redhawks will return home to face Navajo Tech on Saturday afternoon.
