The Benedictine Mesa men's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought match to The Master's University in five sets, with final scores of 26–24, 22–25, 22–25, 25–21, 12–15.
Set 1
The match began with a back-and-forth battle. After falling behind 14–7, Benedictine Mesa mounted a comeback with key plays from Landon Fuller and Dapre Rogers, who delivered two service aces. The Redhawks tied it at 21, and in a dramatic finish, Landon Fuller's kill from John Jakaitis clinched the 26–24 win for the Redhawks.
Set 2
The Master's responded in the second set, capitalizing on Benedictine's errors and a strong performance from Braden Van Groningen. Despite late kills from Josh Beymer and Fuller, the Mustangs pulled ahead 25–22, evening the match at 1–1.
Set 3
The Master's came out strong in Set 3, taking control early with kills from Seltzer and Max McCullough. The Redhawks fought back with contributions from Josh Beymer and Dapre Rogers, but the Mustangs were able to maintain their lead. Benedictine closed out the set 25–22, taking a 2–1 match lead.
Set 4
In Set 4, Benedictine Mesa jumped to an early lead, with strong kills from Landon Fuller and Ben Turcinec. The Master's University fought back, but Benedictine capitalized on errors and timely kills to maintain control, including a key service ace from Dapre Rogers. The Redhawks closed out the set 25-21, forcing a set 5.
Set 5
Benedictine Mesa fought hard in the fifth set, staying close with The Master's through several exchanges of points. However, a few key errors allowed the Mustangs to pull ahead, with strong performances from Isaac Seltzer and Braden Van Groningen helping them maintain their lead. Despite a valiant effort from the Redhawks, The Master's ultimately secured a 15-12 victory, clinching the match.
