Rolando Sanchez enters his third season as Assistant Coach for the Benedictine University Mesa baseball program. He returns after coaching the Redhawks in 2019. 

Sanchez started his coaching career at his alma mater, Montgomery High School in San Diego, CA. After two seasons, he moved on to Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach, CA. After his stop in the high school ranks, Sanchez moved back to Clarke University and was an assistant for the 2018 Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament champions and national NAIA regional participant. He spent the 2020 season as an assistant with Texas A&M University Kingsville where he helped the Javelinas to a Covid-19 shortened 12-10 record in the difficult Lone Star Conference.

Coach Sanchez has also spent two summers in the Alaska Baseball League for the Peninsula Oilers and worked in player development for Perfect Game Iowa Select. He played 3 seasons at Clarke University with Head Coach Brian McCabe. At Clarke, Sanchez enjoyed a first team All Midwest Collegiate Conference selection. Sanchez also earned GPAC All Conference at his first stop, Dakota Wesleyan University.

After his collegiate career, Sanchez signed two professional contracts with the Santa Fe Fuego out of the Pecos League and the Grays Harbor Gulls in the Mt. Rainier League. 

Sanchez earned a Bachelor's Degree from Clarke University and currently works in the Benedictine University Mesa Admissions Department.
