Benedictine University Mesa

2024-25: As a sophomore Payton played a crucial role for the Redhawks. The guard played in 28 games and made 12 starts on the season. Payton averaged 10.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game. On the defensive side of the ball Payton excelled with 57 steals, good for 2nd most in a single season in BenU Mesa MBB history. Payton scored a season high 25 points on January 18th against ERAU. 

2023-24: Payton played in 6 games for the Redhawks during the 2023-24 season. The 6'2 guard played 19.7 minutes per game and had averages of 4.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2 assists per game. Payton scored a season high 12 points on February 24th against Cal Maritime. 

Previous School: Payton joined the Redhawks after playing one season at NCAA D2 King University. As a freshman at King University Payton played in 26 games and made 1 start. He scored a season high 11 points on Feb. 22nd against Southern Wesleyan University. As a senior at Florence HS he was named 3A South Central Region Player of the Year after averaging 25.3 points per game.
