James Mackie is entering his first season has the Head Coach of Men's Golf. Mackie is a former member of the Redhawks and during his time he was a standout golfer for Benedictine Mesa, earning the title of Cal Pac Golfer of the Week and a spot on the 2023-24 NAIA Men's Golf All-American 3rd Team. He finished 2nd in both the OUAZ Shootout and the TPC San Antonio NAIA Shootout, and won the Cal Pac Conference Tournament by one stroke, helping his team secure the title and a bid to the NAIA National Championship. He finished the season ranked 32nd nationally and was named Cal Pac Men's Golfer of the Year.
Before Benedictine, Mackie played at California Baptist, where he competed in multiple tournaments from 2019 to 2023. Highlights included a 3rd place finish at The Joust in 2019-20 and a 2nd place finish at the 2020-21 WAC Championship, where he shot a 7-under-par 209. He was also named to the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars Team during his time at CBU.
James Mackie graduated from California Baptist with a bachelors in liberal arts with an emphasis in kinesiology and is currently getting his masters from Benedicitne Mesa in business administration.
