Biography
Leiana Madrazo, from Stockton, California, joined Benedictine University in the 2023–24 season after an impressive high school career at Stagg High School, where she played varsity softball all four years. Her accolades include Athlete of the Month as a freshman, 1st Team All-League and All-District Athlete of the Year as a junior, and SJAA All-League MVP Honorable Mention as a senior. In her freshman year at Benedictine, Madrazo overcame early challenges to set a school record with five stolen bases in a single game against Park-Gilbert on April 6 and earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. Over the 2024 season, she appeared in 33 games (32 starts), batting .228 with 18 hits, one double, four triples, 11 RBIs, 18 runs, and 21 stolen bases, posting a .390 on-base percentage and .342 slugging percentage, while recording 53 putouts, seven assists, and one error for a .984 fielding percentage. In 2025, she played in 38 games (36 starts), hitting .274 with 26 hits, six doubles, six triples, 22 RBIs, and 24 runs, posting a .397 on-base percentage and .463 slugging percentage, while defensively totaling 64 putouts, four assists, and four errors for a .944 fielding percentage. Across her Benedictine career to date, Madrazo has played 71 games (68 starts), collecting 44 hits, seven doubles, 10 triples, 33 RBIs, and 42 runs, with a .394 on-base percentage, .408 slugging percentage, and a .962 career fielding percentage.
