Biography

Nancy Velez, from Peoria, Arizona, graduated from Peoria High School, where she earned All-Region Honorable Mention honors during her junior and senior years and recorded 20 strikeouts. Joining Benedictine University in 2023, Velez quickly made an impact as a versatile player, contributing both as a pitcher and position player. On the mound over her collegiate career, she appeared in 51 games (26 starts), pitching 171.1 innings with a 5.56 ERA, totaling 136 earned runs, 314 hits allowed, 56 strikeouts, and seven home runs surrendered. Her hitting stats include a .120 batting average with three hits and one RBI across 54 games, while defensively she recorded 4 putouts, 32 assists, and 3 errors for a .923 fielding percentage.
