This is Julie Hancock’s first year as an assistant coach for BenU Mesa. She has recently returned to Arizona, where she began her coaching career eleven years ago at Campo Verde High School under the direction of Coach Hutchins. She spent two years as an assistant coach helping to build a foundation for the Campo Verde girls basketball program. In 2011 she moved to Utah where she was the freshman head coach at East High School for a season. Then she spent one year at Canyon View, where they won their league tournament coming in as a #4 seed. 2013-2016 she was the freshman head coach at Vista Heights, and most recently the varsity assistant coach at Skyridge High School for three years. There she once again helped build the foundation for a brand new high school program, where they took their team to the state semi-final game twice in only three years since opening. Coach Hancock also created her own AAU team, UC Schapers that she ran since 2012.

Coach Hancock grew up on the island of Maui and then attended Brigham Young University Hawaii, where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science in 2004.
