Benedictine University Mesa

Campbell, Ohio native Samair Colon joins the Benedictine Mesa women's basketball program in 2026 after a record-setting career at Penn State Shenango. A graduate of Youngstown Rayen Early College, Colon excelled both academically and athletically, graduating as her class valedictorian while developing into a standout basketball player. At Penn State Shenango, Colon made program history by recording the first triple-double in the school's women's basketball history. She appeared in 20 career games, including 17 starts, and scored 267 points while shooting nearly 80 percent from the free-throw line. During the 2025-26 season, she averaged 13.7 points per game and connected on 49 three-pointers, showcasing her ability as a dynamic scorer and perimeter threat. Her combination of offensive production, playmaking ability, and strong academic background makes her a valuable addition to the Redhawks roster as she begins her first season with Benedictine Mesa.
