Biography
Ava Castro is a defensive specialist from Gilbert, Arizona, and a graduate of Mesquite High School. During her high school career, she earned First Team All-Region honors and was named Defensive Player of the Region twice, establishing herself as one of the top defensive players in her area. Following her prep career, Castro continued her volleyball journey at Gateway Community College, gaining valuable collegiate experience. Castro joins Benedictine University Mesa in 2026, bringing strong defensive instincts, leadership, and ball-control skills to the Redhawks. Her experience combined with her defensive accomplishments and court awareness, will make her a valuable addition to the Benedictine Mesa volleyball program as she begins her collegiate career with the Redhawks.
