Lori DeJongh-Slight is a highly accomplished women’s volleyball coach, known for her exceptional leadership and coaching prowess. DeJongh-Slight is joining the Redhakws and 2024 will be her first season with the team.
In the most recent 2023 Women’s Volleyball season, Lori coached at Phoenix College, following a successful six-year tenure at Buena Vista University where she achieved a notable 102-89 record and produced numerous all-conference players, including the school’s first-ever conference MVP and an All-American. In 2015, she was honored as the IIAC Coach of the Year.
Prior to BVU, Lori led Sioux City Heelan to state tournament appearances each year from 2007-2009, securing a state title in 2007. She also contributed as a volunteer assistant at UNC Charlotte during the Covid season and played a key role at Northwest Missouri State University (2003-2005), significantly improving the team's performance.
At Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) from 1999-2002, Lori accumulated 100 wins and guided the team to the NJCAA tournament in 2002, earning Coach of the Year recognition. Her coaching journey began at BVU in 1996-1997 while pursuing her B.A. degree.
