Benedictine University Mesa

Sophie Schonauer joins the Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball program in 2026 as a versatile outside hitter, opposite hitter, and defensive specialist. A native of Bakersfield, California, she starred at Stockdale High School, earning First Team All-League and All-Area honors as both a junior and senior after receiving Second Team recognition as a sophomore. She was also named Gold Division Tournament MVP at the Clovis Tournament during her senior season. Schonauer comes to Benedictine Mesa after two seasons at Queens College (N.Y.), where she totaled 445 digs and 21 service aces while averaging more than two digs per set, bringing valuable collegiate experience and versatility to the Redhawks.
