PASADENA, Calif. – The Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball team started off the second round of Cal Pac play facing off against the Sea Beggars. The Redhawks took the match in 3 sets (25-23,25-15,25-15) making it their 6th sweep since September 22nd. The Redhawks are now, 10-1 in Cal Pac and 16-4 overall.
The Redhawks struck first on a kill from Laylah Daniel but gave up a 5 point run to the Sea Beggars. The Redhawks were unable to get a rhythm until they tied the game at 12 apiece. From there it went neck and neck until the Redhawks got the lead at the 21-20 mark. The Redhawks took the set, 25-23.
BenU held more control in the second set despite holding a short lead until the 16-14 mark where they went on a 9-1 run to take the set 25-15. The Sea Beggars committed 8 errors in the second set while the Redhawks improved from the first and only committed 4 errors. The Redhawks took the set 25-15.
The third set went much like the second and resulted in a 25-15 win for the Redhawks. Brianna Rivera led the Redhawks with 12 kills hitting a .292. Kylie Bartel finished with 19 assists and 12 digs leading the Redhawks in both categories.

The Redhawks travel to Irvine, Calif. to face off against the Warriors of Westcliff University. The win over Providence and Westcliff's loss to Embry-Riddle brings both schools to 10-1 in Cal Pac. Benedictine is currently ranked at the No.1 spot in the standings with the better overall record despite the similar conference record.
