Box Score 2 MESA, Ariz. - The Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball team continued to tear through their Cal Pac opponents by defeating the La Sierra University Golden Eagles, 3-0 (26-24,25-22,25-13) and Antelope Valley, 3-1 (25-10,22-25,25-5,25-14). The Redhawks are now 13-2 in Cal Pac and 19-5 overall.

The Redhawks started the match off slow, letting the Golden Eagles force the first set to 26-24. Brianna Rivera took the lead in the first set tallying five kills. The Redhawks totaled 14 kills in the first set but gave up 8 errors. The Golden Eagles had 9 kills and only 3 attack errors hitting a .214 clip to start.
The second set went much like the first with the Redhawks holding the offensive advantage but making more errors than the Golden Eagles. The redhawks had 17 kills to the Golden Eagles 9 but made 7 errors. The Redhawks outhit La Sierra, .238-to-.138 in hitting percentage.
The Redhawks cleaned up the offense in the third set to secure the sweep over La Sierra. BenU had 12 kills and only made 3 errors for a match high .310 hitting percentage. Brianna Rivera led the Redhawks with 20 kills to hit an impressive .576. Haley Rivera led the defense with 18 digs. Kylie Bartel finished with 13 assists and 4 blocks. Keshara Montgomery had 4 blocks to help the defense as well.

The Redhawks carried the momentum from Thursdays match into the match against the University of Antelope Valley. The Redhawks took the first set, 25-10, totaling 13 kills and hitting a match high .545 hitting percentage. The Pioneers committed 8 errors and had 4 kills.
The Redhawks dropped the second, 22-25, despite outhitting the Pioneers. BenU held a slim advanatage with 11 kills and a .250 hitting percetange while the Pioneers had 10 kills and hit .214 in the second set. The redhawks committed 10 errors while UAV had 4 errors.
The third and fourth sets went in favor of the Redhawks with the Redhawks totaling 29 kills and only 8 errors. Kylie Bartel led the offense with 15 kills and a team high .667 hitting percentage. Keshara Montgomery had 4 kills in 5 attempts with no errors and hit an .800 clip in the match. Brianna Rivera and Laylah Daniel had 10 kills apiece. Annabelle Somoza tallied 32 assists and 4 service aces.
The two wins over the weekend have secured a spot for the Redhawks in the Cal Pac Championship tournament, which will be held at Saint Katherine in San Marcos, Calif., beginning Nov. 10.
