The Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball team picked up two wins against UC Merced and Simpson University. The Redhawks swept through both opponents to improve to 6-1 in Cal Pac and 11-4 overall.

25-17,25-21,26-24

The Redhawks continued their dominance in the Cal Pac by defeating UC Merced in three. The offense was led by freshman Laylah Daniel with 16 kills and a .303 hitting percentage. Kylie Bartel finished with 11 kills and a team high .417 clip. Annabelle Somoza had 19 assists and 4 service aces. 

The Redhawks committed more errors in the first set but managed to hit a .350 with 19 kills while the Bobcats hit .310 and only had 10 kills. The next sets were defined by errors for both teams with the Redhawks committing 11 in the final two and the Bobcats having 13 errors.

26-24,27-25,25-18

Freshman Laylah Daniel notched a double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs in the three sets against Simpson. Senior outside hitter Brianna Rivera fnished with 13 kills and 4 aces. Courtney Ely continued to add to the Redhawks offense by contributing 5 kills and a .357 clip. Annabella Somoza had a season high of 34 assists and had 9 digs to help the Redhawks defense. 

The match went back-and-forth for the first two sets before the Redhawks took control and the final set to sweep Simpson University. The Redhawks outhit Simpson .147 to .037 in the first set and had 12 kills to their 6. The second set was just as unbalanced in favor of the Redhawks despite the score being so close. BenU had 17 kills and a .237 hitting percentage while Simpson had 10 kills and a .171 hitting percentage. The Redhawks had a match high .324 hitting percentage in the final set and had 16 kills.
