Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Keeping control throughout the game, the Redhawks got back in the win column in their 87-75 victory over La Sierra University, Sunday afternoon inside the Alumni Pavilion.
Elise Young led the Redhawks once again with 25 points making it the 6th time she's eclipsed the 20-point mark in a game this season. Young also added 9 rebounds, two assists, and two steals to her impressive performance against the Golden Eagles. Nyah Henderson added 13 points and 8 rebounds while Dyamond Butler-Worley added 10 points and 7 boards in the game.
As a team, the Redhawks fired at a 43.2 percent clip, going 35-of-81, and were ruthless on the defensive side, swiping away 12 total steals. The Redhawks did a superb job turning takeaways into points and owned the paint to the tune of a 42-28 advantage.
The afternoon started quietly, but the Redhawks picked up the pressure as the first quarter came to a close. Shortly after the start of the second half, the Redhawks rattled off a 16-8 run for the first five minutes of the frame. After the third quarter, the Redhawks led 57-49 forcing 8 turnovers and shooting 44.4 percent from the field.
The final stanza saw the Redhawks outscoring the golden Eagles, 30-26, allowing the Redhawks to pull away with the win and the largest lead of the night with 18 points.
