MERCED, Calif. – The Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball team swept Pacific Union and then finished their Northern California trip with a five-set battle against UC Merced.The match against Pacific went 25-12,25-17,25-18 while the match against UC Merced went 23-25,25-9,25-12,21-25,15-13. BenU improves to 25-3 overall and 16-2 in Cal Pac play.
Kylie Bartel totaled 36 kills in the two matches landing 18 kills in both. Bartel led the team with a .406 clip against Pacific Union and then again with a .342 hitting percentage against UC Merced. Bartel also finished with 12 digs against Merced.
Brianna Rivera followed with 21 kills in two matches only making six errors in 55 attempts. Rivera added six service aces to bring her to a total of 27 points in the two matches.
Hattie Patton had 30 digs to average 3.75 digs per set. Freshman
Jewel Carling had a .381 clip through two matches with 10 kills, two errors and 21 attempts.
