SURPRISE, Ariz. – In an exhilarating match, the Redhawks and the OUAZ Spirit battled it out in a contest that saw momentum swing back and forth. Both teams showcased their skills and determination. The Redhawks walked away with the win 3-2 (23-25,25-21,23-25,25-16,15-13). The Redhawks improved to 18-2 overall and remain 9-1 in Cal Pac play.
The first set was a tightly contested affair, with both teams displaying their strong offense and resilient defense. The OUAZ Spirit managed to edge out Benedictine University Mesa, taking the set with a score of 25-23.
However, BenU was not ready to back down. In the second set, they found their rhythm and executed their plays effectively. Their strong teamwork paid off as they won the set 25-21, evening the score at 1-1.
The third set was another nail-biter, as OUAZ Spirit fought hard to regain the lead. OUAZ managed to secure a 25-23 victory in the set, putting them ahead once again.
Not to be outdone, Benedictine University Mesa roared back in the fourth set, showcasing their offensive capabilities and tenacious defense. They dominated the set, winning 25-16 and forcing a decisive fifth set.
The final set was a true test of both teams' determination and resilience. It was a back-and-forth battle with two lead changes, as each point became crucial. In the end, it was BenU who managed to eke out a 15-13 victory, clinching the match in dramatic fashion.
The win over OUAZ tied the programs record for longest win streak with 10 straight wins. The Redhawks went on to defeat West Coast Baptist 3-0 (25-15,25-12,25-11) to break the record with their 11
th straight win.
