Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

In a Battle Until the End, Redhawks Fall to Ranked ACU, 73-77.

Men's Basketball fall to ranked Arizona Christian University, 73-77.

The first half opens to, nationally ranked number 10, Arizona Christian going on an 8-0 run, but Tanner Crawford ends the run and gets Benedictine Mesa on the board. The first half was plagued by missed shots and turnovers on both sides to finish out the half 22-34. The second half opens to the Firestorm making shots and the Redhawks missing them to go down by 22 points. But the Redhawks continue to battle and with 3:00 minutes left they cut the lead to 52-66. With 1:53 seconds on the clock, Quincy Reece keeps Benedictine Mesa in the game with his 3-pointer making it 55-66. Eric Norton follows this up with one of his 6 steals of the game and finishing it with a breakaway layup. With 57 seconds left and only down by 7 points, the Redhawks must foul ACU to get the ball back, unfortunately ACU sinks them all. This doesn't stop the Redhawks as they hit 3 shots from the field and 3 free throws to continue to try and steal the win. But ACU's good free throws keep the lead out of Benedictine's hands, 70-77. With 8 seconds left Quincy Reece hits one final 3-pointer to shrink the lead to 4, but there's just not enough time left on the clock. The Redhawks ultimately lose to the Firestorm despite their efforts to the very end.

Quincy Reece had himself a game leading in points, assists, and rebounds. Reece scored 20 points, tying his career high, along with his 4 assists, and 6 rebounds. Deven Franks made sure to help his team with 17 points. And can't forget about D'Andre Johnson's 6 rebounds and 10 points as well as Eric Norton's 6 steals that brought the team some electric energy.

The Redhawks are back in action December 30th at Ottawa University Arizona with a 2 PM game.
