MESA, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa men's volleyball team hosted NCAA DI opponent, UC Irvine, on Thursday evening inside of the Coyote Center. The Redhawks took the win after a thrilling five-set match where BenU hit for a .242 clip and had 56 kills. UCI had a .228 hitting percentage and had 55 kills in the match.

Landon Fuller just missed a double-double posting 17 kills and 9 digs. Simon Joly narrowly missed the mark as well with 13 kills and 9 digs. Freshman Tyler Watts posted 11 kills and hit for a .588 clip to lead the match.

Daxton Tolman and Trevor Medigovich directed the offense combining for 47 assists. Tolman had 31 while Medigovich added 16 in the match.

The Redhawks will face off against SMCC in a scrimmage with the first serve set for 6 p.m. at South Mountain Community College.
