Benedictine Mesa men's volleyball had two players earn postseason recognition from the Great Southwestern Athletic Conference (GSAC). Freshman Joseph Washington was named GSAC Freshman of the Year, while both Washington and Travis Kelly were selected to the GSAC All-Conference Team.
Washington had an outstanding first season, recording 115 kills while posting a .418 hitting percentage, which ranked sixth in the GSAC. He also made a strong impact defensively with 63 total blocks, second-most in the conference. His season highs included 15 kills against La Sierra and eight blocks versus Park Gilbert.
Kelly also put together an impressive season, finishing with 112 kills and a .342 hitting percentage, ranking eighth in the GSAC. He was a force defensively, leading the conference with 89 total blocks. Kelly recorded a season-high 14 blocks in a win over OUAZ, earning him GSAC Defensive Player of the Week honors as well as NAIA Defender of the Week recognition.
