SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa men's soccer team dropped a non-conference match to Ottawa-AZ on Monday evening. The Redhawks fell, 2-1, to bring their overall record to 1-4 and remain 0-2 in Cal Pac play.
The Redhawks opened the match scoring in the first minute off an unassisted goal from
Isaac Barreno. BenU went on to take three more shots in the first with two of those being on goal forcing OUAZ's keeper to make saves. OUAZ tied the game in the 25th minute and 41st minute to go into the half 2-1.
BenU kept up with OUAZ in the second taking six shots while the Spirit took seven.
Aidan Klein played the full 90 between the posts making 4 saves on the match.
Alan Garibaldy led the Redhawks in shots while three Redhawks;
Isaac Barreno,
Carlos Barraza, and
Joao Alvarez, took two shots.
