MESA, Ariz. – The Benedictine University Mesa women's soccer team bounced back from a 1-0 deficit in the first half to defeat Prov, 2-1, on Thursday evening at Legacy Sports Complex. The Redhawks are now 2-4 overall and 2-1 in Cal Pac play.
Providence seized an early advantage scoring in the 16
th minute on their first shot taken for the half. The Redhawks didn't let up and tied the game at the 28
th minute on a goal from
Dahlia Alonso. The goal marks Alonso's fourth goal of the season. BenU outshot the Seabeggars 11-to-2 in the first half and forced seven saves from the keeper.
BenU kept the momentum going into the second half outshooting Providence 6-to-2 and having four opportunities form the corners.
Brylee Rod scored the game winning goal on an assist from
Neshma Rodriguez.
