Former all-conference shooting guard Jay Small has signed with KB Teuta Durres of the Albania Basketball Federation Superliga, the highest division of professional basketball in Albania.
KB Teuta Durres is located in Durres, Albania. Durres is one of the oldest cities in Albania and it sits along the coast of the Adriatic Sea. KB Teuta is one of the oldest teams in Albania going all the way back to 1925. The organization has won 4 SuperLiga titles and is coming off a 15-5 season last year.
Small played one season for the Redhawks as a graduate transfer during the 2021-22 season. The 6'2 guard played in all 30 games and averaged 13.6 points, 5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Small was named to the California Pacific Conference All-Conference Team. Small's 409 points were the 3
rd most scored in a single season in Redhawks history.
Small played a crucial role in the Redhawks run to the 2022 NAIA National Tournament. He scored a game high 25 points in a conference tournament first round win against host intuition University of Antelope Valley. He then saved the Redhawks season and propelled them to the national tournament with a game tying made 3pt FG as timed expired against Simpson University to force overtime, which the Redhawks went on to win.Â
Small is set to join KB Teuta this week to start pre-season team activities with games starting in early October.
