The Benedictine Men's Basketball Team fell to Park University-Gilbert on Tuesday night, 74-89.
Â
Park took an early lead, but
Damian Zivak's 3-pointer at the 17-minute mark brought BenU into contention. The teams battled closely until about the 2-minute mark, with Park maintaining the lead, though the Redhawks closed the gap to within one-point multiple times. However, Park closed out the half with a 15-point run, leaving BenU down 31-46 at halftime.
Â
In the second half, the Redhawks reduced the lead to 10 points, but Park's 66.7% shooting from the 3-point line proved hard to overcome. Despite BenU out-rebounding and out-stealing Park, the latter's record-breaking shooting held firm. With 1:21 left, the Redhawks narrowed the lead to 11 in a last-ditch effort, but Park won with a final score of 89-74.
