Women's Soccer's Late Rally Falls Short in 3-2 Defeat to Arizona Christian

Benedictine Mesa Women Soccer were defeated by Arizona Christian 2-3.
 
In the first half, Benedictine Mesa's defense, led by goalkeeper Josephine Cisneros, held firm against constant pressure from Arizona Christian. Cisneros made a series of impressive saves, stopping multiple shots from the Firestorm. Despite Benedictine's resilience, Arizona Christian broke through in the 31st minute with a goal. Benedictine responded with offensive efforts, including a shot from Anais Valle and a header by Mellysa Galiz, but both were saved or off target. The Redhawks trailed 1-0 at the end of the half despite their defensive efforts.
 
In the second half, Benedictine Mesa fought hard to close the gap after falling behind 2-0 early in the period, with Arizona Christian scoring in the 50th minute. The Redhawks responded with a goal from Julia Bodelasse in the 66th minute, but Arizona Christian extended their lead to 3-1 with a goal in the 74th minute. Benedictine continued to press and found the net again in the 81st minute through Dahlia Alonso, bringing the score to 3-2. Despite late efforts, including a shot from Angelia Lucero, the Redhawks couldn't complete the comeback, ultimately falling 3-2.
