The Benedictine Mesa Softball team faced a tough doubleheader against Arizona Christian on Saturday, resulting in a 2-3 loss in the first game and a 6-8 defeat in the second.

In the initial match, ACU took the lead in the 4th inning with a score of 1-0. They extended their lead by scoring in the 5th and 6th innings, making it 3-0. The Redhawks fought back in the 7th inning, with McKenzie Hamilton's double allowing
Leiana Madrazo and
Brandee Ayala to score, but ACU managed to hold them off, securing a 2-3 victory.

The second game saw Benedictine taking a 4-0 lead in the 2nd inning, thanks to Gabi Perez's single that brought in
Stephany Aguirre,
Savannah Howard's single that allowed
Amanda Clack to score,
Madeline Kallfelz's single that brought home Gabi Perez, and
Brandee Ayala's fielder's choice allowing
Savannah Howard to score. ACU responded, tying the game 4-4 in the 4th inning and later taking the lead 7-4 in the 6th inning. Despite efforts from Benedictine, including
Amanda Clack's run and McKenzie Hamilton's sacrifice fly in the 6th and 7th innings, respectively, ACU secured an 8-6 win.
