The Benedictine Mesa Women's Basketball team secured a decisive 64-42 victory over Pacific Union on Thursday night.
Nyah Henderson initiated the scoring for the Redhawks with a jumper, and the lead fluctuated between the two teams until the 6-6 mark, at which point BenU seized control and maintained it for the remainder of the game. The first quarter concluded with Benedictine holding a 2-point lead, 10-8.
The second quarter unfolded entirely in BenU's favor, limiting Pacific Union to just 5 points while the Redhawks amassed 21 points, along with 14 rebounds and 4 steals. Benedictine extended their lead to 20 points at one juncture, concluding the quarter with an 18-point advantage, 31-13.
In the third quarter, the Redhawks further expanded their lead to 27 points, dominating the rebounding with a 12-5 margin over Pacific Union. Although the opponents managed to trim the lead to 22, the Redhawks concluded the quarter with a substantial advantage of 53-31.
The fourth quarter showcased the defensive prowess of the Redhawks, as they secured 18 rebounds. BenU maintained their double-digit lead, ultimately sealing the game with a 64-42 victory.
