In the initial set, the Redhawks began with a 3-point run, but Simpson caught up, resulting in a closely contested battle. Despite Simpson's 20-15 lead due to a 3-point run, crucial hitting errors allowed BenU to equalize at 21-21.
Dapre Rogers contributed two kills and an ace, leading Benedictine to game point, ultimately clinching the set at 26-24 with a decisive kill from
Tyler McBurney.
The second set saw an early 4-point run by Simpson, countered by a kill from
Dapre Rogers. The Redhawks leveled the score at 17-17 and secured the lead at 20-19 with a Rogers kill. Despite three game points for Benedictine, the set concluded with a 27-25 victory, sealed by an ace from
Daniel Compton.
In the third set, both teams remained competitive until Benedictine's 3-point run, featuring two kills from
Tyler McBurney and an ace from
Gehrig Tolman. Despite the Redhawks' 23-21 lead, Simpson rallied and claimed the set 26-28.
The fourth set began with a 3-point run by BenU, answered by Simpson. Benedictine responded with kills from
Ben Turcinec and
Dapre Rogers, leading to a dominant 5-point run. Another 5-point surge, including kills from
Jackson Walsh and Rogers, secured the set 25-16, and consequently, the match.
