Baseball Suffered a Narrow Defeat Against Park Gilbert 6-7

The Benedictine Mesa Baseball team suffered a narrow defeat against Park Gilbert on Saturday, ending with a final score of 6-7.

In the matchup between Park-Gilbert and Benedictine Mesa, Park-Gilbert seized an early advantage in the opening inning with a three-run homer. Benedictine responded promptly with a run by Kyle Fenner in the same inning. The second inning saw Benedictine narrowing the gap with runs from Preston Vine-Close and Anthony Sortino, equalizing the score at 3-3. However, Park-Gilbert regained momentum, extending their lead in the fourth and fifth innings to 6-3. An additional run was added in the eighth inning due to an error by Park-Gilbert. Despite a valiant effort from Benedictine in the eighth and ninth innings, scoring runs courtesy of Ryan Curran in the eighth, and Jacob Bauler and Preston Vine-Close in the ninth, Park-Gilbert managed to maintain their lead and secure the victory 7-5.
