On Wednesday night, the Benedictine Mesa Men's Volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory against Bethel, with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 19-25, and 25-16.
In the first set, despite Bethel's early lead, the Redhawks staged a comeback at 16-18, capitalizing on Bethel's errors to tie the game. Taking their first lead at 22-21 with an ace from
Trevor Medigovich, the Redhawks clinched the set with a final kill from
Dapre Rogers, winning 25-23.
The second set saw the Redhawks dominating with a 6-point run, featuring kills from Joshua Beymer,
Jackson Walsh, and
Dapre Rogers, along with a block by Walsh and Rogers. Trading points, the set concluded with a 25-19 win for Benedictine, thanks to Bethel's service error.
While Benedictine initially led in the third set, Bethel managed a 4-point run. Despite Bethel's effort, the Redhawks secured the set victory with a kill from Joshua Beymer and an error from Bethel, although Bethel ultimately won the set.
In the fourth set, the teams remained close until the Redhawks embarked on a 3-point run, followed by another at the 17-15 mark. The Redhawks sealed the match with a decisive 5-point run, including two blocks by Walsh and one by Walsh and Rogers, winning the set 25-19.
