Softball Defeats Park but Falls to Simpson in Semifinals

The Benedictine Mesa Redhawks secured a 4-3 victory over Park Gilbert in the Cal Pac Tournament, advancing to the semifinals but falling short against Simpson in a 1-2 defeat.

In the opening game, Benedictine seized an early lead as Brandee Ayala capitalized on a second baseman's error to score. However, Park managed to equalize, then pull ahead with another run in the bottom inning. The Redhawks fought back, with McKenzie Hamilton's sacrifice fly bringing Ayala home to tie the game in the 5th inning. Park regained the lead in the 6th, but Gabrielle Perez's clutch double in the 7th leveled the score once more. Extra innings saw Lauren Franco's single, enabling Alexis Lopez to score the winning run, securing a 4-3 triumph.

In the subsequent game, Perez's single brought Ayala home for an early Redhawks lead, but Simpson countered with two runs in the bottom of the 1st.
