Baseball Loses to Embry-Riddle in Cal Pac Championship

The Benedictine Mesa Baseball team faced a tough loss in the Cal Pac Championship game against Embry-Riddle, with a final score of 7-9.

In the initial inning, Daniel Miranda's single to center field brought Alec Larson home, setting an early lead. However, Embry quickly responded with a run of their own. In the second inning, Embry secured another score, ultimately clinching the win. 

Carlos Parra's single to center in the 4th inning brought Anthony Sortino home, evening the score to 2-2. Yet, in the same inning, the Eagles managed 3 runs, seizing the lead. 

Jack Fitzgerald's single to right field in the 6th inning brought Oliver Davies home, followed by Joseph Cosenza's walk, allowing Larson to score. Miranda's double play resulted in Parra making it home, tying the game 5-5. However, Embry-Riddle pulled ahead with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. 

Parra's single to left field in the 7th inning brought Sortino home, with Kyle Fenner scoring on a passed ball, narrowing the gap to 7-8. But in the bottom of the 7th, Embry-Riddle added one more run, securing their victory.

- Alec Larson: 1 hit on 5 at bats with 2 runs.
- Anthony Sortino: Pinch ran and scored 2 runs.
- Carlos Parra: 3 hits on 5 at bats with 1 run and 2 RBIs.

This defeat likely marks the end of the Redhawks' season, although there remains a slight chance of receiving an at-large bid to the NAIA tournament. Despite the outcome, these athletes and coaches exhibited unwavering dedication throughout the season, leaving behind a memorable campaign filled with both triumphs and challenges.
