The Benedictine Mesa Women's Soccer team opened their season with a commanding 7-0 victory over Justice College on Saturday night. From the outset, Benedictine Mesa dominated the match, relentlessly attacking and controlling the game. Despite several saves by the Justice College goalkeeper, Benedictine Mesa broke through in the 17th minute with a goal by
Dahlia Alonso, who quickly added a second just a few minutes later.
Brylee Rod then scored a third goal before halftime.
The second half saw no let-up in Benedictine Mesa's intensity. Alexis Abbot extended the lead to 4-0 in the 48th minute, followed by a penalty kick conversion by Alonso, securing her hat trick and making it 5-0. Rod added two more goals in the final 15 minutes, completing her own hat trick and sealing the 7-0 rout. Justice College struggled to create opportunities as Benedictine Mesa's relentless offense and solid defense carried the day.
