The Benedictine University Mesa women's volleyball team delivered an impressive performance, sweeping Hope International (25–18, 25–22, 25–19).
From the opening serve, the Redhawks set the tone with crisp execution and high energy.
Sophie Drollinger and
BelleRose Branconier each opened the match with kills assisted by Galvan, sparking a quick 5–0 run. Galvan's early service ace and precise distribution helped Benedictine control the pace as they built a comfortable lead. Despite a mid-set push from the Royals, Benedictine's offense remained steady, and a late surge led by
Railey Druxman and
Camille Collins secured a 25–18 win in the first set.
The second set proved to be a tighter battle, with Hope International finding some rhythm offensively. However, Galvan continued to orchestrate the Redhawks' attack effectively, tallying multiple assists to Drollinger and Druxman while Collins added key points at the net. Benedictine fended off a late comeback attempt by the Royals, closing out the set 25–22 to take a commanding 2–0 lead.
In the third set, the Redhawks came out determined to finish strong. Galvan once again set the tone, recording assists on consecutive kills from
Janae Moore and one from libero,
Adina Ortiz. Drollinger and Druxman took control offensively, combining for several kills that helped the Redhawks maintain their lead. Despite a brief rally from Hope International, Benedictine remained composed, closing the match 25–19 after a final kill from Druxman sealed the sweep.
